Schisantherin A is a mechanism-based inhibitor that competitively inhibits and irreversibly inactivates CYP3A4. Schisantherin A (StA) has neuroprotective activity and could be potential candidate for the treatment of neuron loss in neurodegenerative diseases including Parkinson′s disease. It inhibits tumor progression and could be a potential drug target for cancer treatment. StA blocks ATP-binding cassette transporters and restores the levels of anti-cancer drugs in cancer cells. It also has anti-inflammatory property. |
