| General description【一般描述】 | PANK2 (Pantothenate kinase 2) phosphorylates pantothenic acid (vitamin B(5) and regulates the overall rate of coenzyme A (CoA) biosynthesis. PANK2 thereby plays an important role in lipid metabolism and energy production. Mutation or knockdown of the PANK2 gene results in various disease states, including hypoglycemia, hyperketonemia, faulty metabolism, poor postnatal development, and childhood neurodegeneration. |

| Target description【目标描述】 | ~62/37 kDa observed. Uncharacterized bands may appear at ~15 kDa, ~25 kDa, and ~260 kDa in some lysates. The calculated molecular weight is 62 kDa, however PANK2 has been shown as a ~40 kDa band in western blots (Kotzbauer, P. T., et al. (2005). The Journal of Neuroscience. 25(3):689-698). |
