| Biochem/physiol Actions【生化/生理作用】 | Ceramide-1-phosphate (C1P) is capable of blocking cell death in bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs). It controls the growth and survival in various cell types. C1P bioactive sphingolipid is known to modulate the proliferation and differentiation of photoreceptors. C1P controls apoptosis. It acts as a pro-inflammatory agent and plays a key role in phagocytosis. Ceramide-1-phosphate is well known as a second messenger and an important mediator of inflammatory response. |
