| Biochem/physiol Actions【生化/生理作用】 | 24(R/S),25-epoxycholesterol (24(R/S),25-EC) is a side chain substituted cholesterol. It is an effective activator of liver X receptor (LXR) transcription. 24R and 24S epimers of epoxycholesterol inhibit cholesterol synthesis from 24,25-dihydrolanosterol. The levels of 24(R/S),25-EC is elevated in gastric carcinoma and may also inhibit gastric tumor invasion. 24(R/S),25-EC regulates gastric epithelial function and also may modulates the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase - protein kinase B (PI3K/AKT) signaling. |
