| Biochem/physiol Actions【生化/生理作用】 | Tenascin-C (TNC) is an extracellular matrix protein that is expressed at low levels in normal adult tissue but is highly expressed around many tumors including ovarian tumors. High levels are observed in many diseases like heart failure, thrombosis, atherosclerosis and cancer. It plays an indispensable role in tumor development. Expression of this gene is induced by growth factors as well as mechanical strain in fibroblast. It is up-regulated within glioma tissues and cultured glioma cell lines. TNC possesses a multi-modular structure with a variety of functional properties. |
