| General description【一般描述】 | The gene Kcnh8 (potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily H member 8), also referred to as Elk1/Ets-1, belongs to the Ets family of transcription factors. The members of this subfamily are part of the ether-a-go-go (EAG) family of potassium channel pore-forming subunits. The rat elk mRNA is found to be expressed in brain. The rat elk subunits contain six hydrophobic membrane-spanning segments S1-S6, a P-domain, and a motif homologous to cyclic nucleotide-binding domains at the C-terminus. |

The potassium channel is found to mediate slowly activating sustained potassium currents. |
