| Biochem/physiol Actions【生化/生理作用】 | KIAA0020 also referred to as XTP5 (HBV X-transactivated gene 5 protein), PUF6, PEN, HLA-HA8 or hPUF-A. It is a 648 amino acid containing nuclear protein that consists of 6 pumilio repeats and one PUM-HD (pumilio homology) domain. KIAA0020 inhibits PARP-1 activity and subsequently precludes PARP-1 degradation by caspase-3, which may facilitate the regulation of cellular response to genotoxic stress. hPUF-A protein that contains PUM-HD assists in binding sequences in their target RNAs and hence regulate translation and mRNA stability. |
