| General description【一般描述】 | Anti-DCT Antibody detects endogenous levels of total DCT protein. Dopachrome tautomerase (DCT) is also termed as tyrosinase-related protein 2 (TYRP2). It is present in melanocytes, RPE (retinal pigment epithelium) cells and HaCaTs (basal keratinocytes). It is located on human chromosome 13q32. |

| Biochem/physiol Actions【生化/生理作用】 | Dopachrome tautomerase (DCT) participates in the production of melanin in melanosomes and also in the detoxification of the melanin precursors. It restricts the destructions induced by chemotherapeutic agents like X-ray or UVB (ultraviolet B) and gamma irradiation in melanoma cells and reduces the susceptibility of cell to oxidative stress. |
