O-(Diphenylphosphinyl)hydroxylamine is a general reagent for electrophilic C-amination, which aminates a variety of stable carbanions and Grignard reagents.

O-(Diphenylphosphinyl)hydroxylamine can be used in:

• The preparation of trans-2-acylaziridines from α, β-unsaturated ketones via amine-catalyzed reaction.
• Synthesis of enantiomerically pure α, β-diamino acids by stereoselective amination of chiral enolates.
• The conversion of carbanions into corresponding primary amines.
