IGF-II acts via specific receptor, IGF-IIR, the binding does not result in signal transduction, but is a mechanism to restrict the bioavailability of IGF-II. The effects of IGF-II signaling are important in growth of blood vessels (angiogenesis) gene transcription, proliferation and transformation. |
